Prices and Inflation 179

inflation of 27.3 per cent in 2021-22 (April-December). Within manufactured food products,
edible oils were a major contributor. During 2021-22 (April to December), edible oils inflation
in WPI was 36.4 per cent. As mentioned earlier, the high import dependence on edible oils has
meant that high international prices in these products are also reflected in the domestic prices.
Inflation in manufacture of textiles also remained high at 15.3 per cent during this period pushed
up by the rise in the prices of textile fibres.
