             Eight Core Index (ICI)

             8.6  The  monthly  Index  of  Eight  Core  Industries  (ICI)  measures  collective  and  individual
             performance of production in selected eight core industries like Coal, Crude Oil, Natural Gas,
             Refinery Products, Fertilizers, Steel, Cement and Electricity. This is an index of the eight most
             fundamental industrial sectors of the Indian economy and comprises 40.27 percent of the weight
             in IIP.
