wheat and rice in central pool with a view to augment the domestic availability of wheat
and rice and ensure food security, the Central Government has undertaken the following
             measures:

               I. MSP of wheat and paddy has been increased to protect the interest of farmers.

II. State Governments, particularly those undertaking Decentralized Procurement (DCP), are
encouraged to maximize procurement of wheat and rice by state agencies.
III. Strategic reserves of 5 million tons of food grains over the existing buffer norms have been
maintained to be used in extreme situations.

IV. Sale of wheat and rice is undertaken through Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) (Domestic)
